Volunteering is an opportunity for you to become involved with your community, and develop by challenging yourself. It's a great chance to make new friends and make a difference to someone else. For a real insight into being a volunteer, see this inspirational blog: A Volunteer's Tale by Sally Holmwood (who started as a volunteer and is now a member of staff).
